OC Minis - Under 14s

U14s Team

Thanks for looking at the OCs for the development of your child’s rugby skills. The Under 14 age group is open to any boy who is in Year 9 of school. At this age girls and boys can no longer play mixed rugby and unfortunately we do not have a girls section.

It is a great way for your child to develop their skills whilst running around, being active & above all having FUN, enjoying structured games that will keep them interested and excited.

It is about creating an environment where the children start to understand the key values that rugby provides - TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP.

During this season we will continue to provide a continuation of the principles of child development and the incremental introduction of new rules which are within the players’ capabilities, enabling them to become more successful.  This will include increasing the numbers competing for the ruck & maul, 8 player scrums, kicking the ball & introduction of the lineout.

Team sizes increase to 15-a-side.

This age group will have joint training games against other teams both home and away and be entered in the Surrey Waterfall competition through the season.

Every Sunday from the first weekend of September through to end of April we start promptly at 12.20 (I suggest that you arrive soon after 12.00 to park).  The session lasts for about 1 ½ hours  & the bar is open throughout for tea/coffee/bacon butties & of course beer/wine for the adults.
